Inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s film 2001: A Space Odyssey, I drew on the use of color, blocking, framing, and expression to evoke
a sci-fi atmosphere—a strange blend of isolation and presence. In some images, I wanted the audience to feel that unsettling sense of anxiety that strikes deep at the core.
